Guernsey 2000

June 23rd – 26th

The details and arrangements for this year’s Aardvark ‘Gurning’ championships are now complete.  The competition will be singles knock-out with the two worst expressions going forward to a ‘face-off’ on the Sunday evening.  Mr Marston has been practising hard and has at least perfected the knack of putting his head through a toilet seat although, unfortunately, he has not yet worked out how to detach it from the urinal.

All cash is now in, so thanks for all those who coughed up on time.  The e-mail airwaves have been bust as the excitement mounts towards the Aardvark contribution to the Euro debate.

One addition to our number is Mr Luther, who did not want to miss the opportunity of passing on a few snippets from his latest novella “How to organise vets” to Mr Gravers.  You are most welcome sir!  Mr Clarke, I am informed, was disappointed when told that ‘Guernsey Toms’ are in fact a variety of tomato and not what he imagined or hoped for.

In thinking about playing colours, the best solution would be if we played in our 97 Barbados shirts.  Most people have one and those that don’t will of course be subject to a modest tariff – horray!!

Particularly for the Manchester mob – a few of us are planning to take in an Italian on the Thursday night (I have seen plenty of them out on the streets).  Those interested please fet back to me.

Flight from Manchester is 07:30 – check in 06:00.  Meet in the terminal building.

We have 5 Fiesta’s waiting for us at the Hotel (cars that is).  Cost is a s previously stated.  Please bring plenty of driving licences etc.  Our resident Aardvark Guerner, Ronaldo Stokes, has suggested a few good restaurants for the Friday night, so I though we might book a table for 21 around 20:00?

One more thing.  Hockey.  Two matches have been arranged.  15:30 on Saturday and 11:00 on Sunday.  Carefully timed to allow for maximum socialing with the Guerners.

Anything else, give me a call on 0161-929-1407 or e-mail on colin@nwf2020.co.uk
